Symptoms
Migraine triggers (myofascial)
Cervical and masticatory trigger points can lower the migraine threshold and trigger attacks in susceptible patients.
Overview
Cervical and masticatory trigger points can lower the migraine threshold and trigger attacks in susceptible patients. Identifying which muscle reproduces the patient's familiar pain on palpation guides treatment and often produces meaningful change alongside standard care.
Clinical notes
Identify reproducible trigger points whose palpation reproduces the prodrome or pain. Combine with standard migraine care.
